Last Thursday, I planted flowers in large but tasteful pots on the cobblestone back patio of a house in Cherry Hills.
Which means they were fucking rich.
I was their gardener, you see. I’m an enterprising peasant. Which means sometimes I do a cash job to pay my bills between hours and hours of unpaid work trying to build my businesses.
And I’m supposed to be helping Daria right now.
I want to be a talent manager. Since my son was struck by the muse, I’ve become consumed with a fractured ego obsessiveness regarding my artistic shortcomings. So, I am compelled, if not convicted, by a feeling of obligation toward other artists. If I’m never to be considered a great artist, then maybe great artists will consider me a friend.
And I’m supposed to help Daria now.

Last Tuesday, I photographed and interviewed Daria Joanna. She is an accomplished cellist with what looks, at a distant glance, to be a very beaten-up instrument. Then I realized something. I know wood. This is a very old instrument.
Did Daria STEAL this cello from a museum?
No. Her first husband bought it for her in 1978. IT’S A THREE-HUNDRED-YEAR-OLD CELLO built in 1658 by some Italian guy whose name I didn’t catch with Daria’s Polish accent. Daria’s accent isn’t as thick as Mayrla’s, though.
DARIA LOVES GYPSY
That’s the name of Daria’s cello. I suspect this instrument is an immortal soul. Gypsy has been at her side for all the highs and lows of a professional musician’s life. They met Omar Sharif. They played for Muammar Gaddafi’s cousin once. They played for the elites of Libya, Egypt, and various European countries. They recorded with a very famous Polish singer, according to Chun. Which means it was some overhyped starlet Jazz singer, I’d guess.
Daria has walked in many beautiful gardens and been given many flowers. I took her picture as she sat with Gypsy by the fireplace. Daira doesn't like my camera. Someone convinced her she's not photogenic anymore, but they are both incredibly beautiful no matter what they think of themselves.

This blog is still about me…
It’s the same place we film Russell’s Reviews so I know that setting is nice for photography. Maryla and Chun opened their house to my projects.

Maryla and Chun are trying to help Daria promote two concerts featuring Mirek Gorski, her longtime friend on piano. He’s flying in from Spain to accompany her for Duo Varsovia: Voyage Through The Soul of Music.
I wish I could help Daria more right now.
Last Thursday, I was PAID to KILL. I went to a second fucking rich house in the afternoon. I pulled out tulips and bulbs because they won't grow as tall in the second year. I pulled out hundreds of pansies because they "look tired" this time of year.
I got on my knees, shoved my hands into the soil, and searched until I felt the tulip bulb, and I pulled it out. Some of the bulb’s pulp stuck under my fingernails. The sun felt nice as it baked my forearms. I worked, and all the while, I worried because…
I’m supposed to be helping Daria now…
which means the next two blogs will be about her.
